Circa Sports, which has an outsized sports wagering presence in Downtown Las Vegas, has been slowly carving out market share in the American heartland.

Circa Sports is among the Illinois sports betting apps, which is also the case in Colorado and Iowa.

Now, Circa’s latest bricks-and-mortar outpost is in Waukegan, Ill. The sportsbook is at American Place, a temporary casino that Full House Resorts is operating while constructing the permanent American Place casino in Waukegan, located north of Chicago and south of Milwaukee.

The new, temporary Circa Sportsbook Illinois was scheduled to get a boost today from a Chicago Bears legend, linebacker Brian Urlacher. Urlacher was scheduled for meet-and-greets with fans as part of a celebration of the debut of Circa Sports Illinois. Also planned was a baseball wild card playoff watch party in the new book.

Closer Look at New Casino

Derek Stevens, Circa owner, has famously made the massive wagering facility at his downtown Las Vegas casino a must-see destination for sports fans with a massive amphitheater-like sportsbook in addition to an expansive swimming pool area that also offers all the features of a vibrant sportsbook operation.

The temporary Waukegan facility at American Place features a Circa Sportsbook Illinois with betting kiosks, physical ticket windows and digital odds boards. There are also the customary giant televisions  - 36 of them, from 60-inch to 80-inch screens.  When the permanent American Place is ready, Circa Sports promises a best-in-class retail sportsbook.

"The debut of Circa Sports Illinois is a tremendous moment for our company, and we are thrilled to have worked with this great state and Full House Resorts to bring the expansion to life," Circa owner Stevens said in a news release. "There's nothing like a Midwest sports fan, and we know our product matches up with what they are looking for in a betting experience."

What Circa Offers the Sports Bettor

Part of Circa’s approach to Illinois sports betting is to offer customers what is known as a good gamble for their money. The company points out that in using the mobile Circa Sports app, bettors are now able to register, fund and wager on sports from anywhere in Illinois. Plus, the company contends it offers a new low-hold model for Illinois and offers some of the best odds in the country. Limits are the same for every player, whether the bettor is a novice or a sharp.

Full House Resorts expressed its excitement with having Circa as a partner.

"We are thrilled for Circa Sports to launch their best-in-class sportsbook in Illinois in partnership with our American Place Casino,” said Alex Stolyar, chief development officer for Full House Resorts, Inc. “The premium sportsbook gives new and existing casino customers throughout Chicagoland one more reason to visit and frequent American Place."

The permanent American Place is being developed within Waukegan's Fountain Square district to include approximately 1,600 slot machines, 100 table games, a high-end 20-villa hotel, a 1,500-seat live entertainment venue, plus bars and restaurants. And, of course, the Circa sports book.
