Fanatics Sportsbook has transferred its Illinois sports betting license from Hawthorne Race Course to Argosy Casino in Alton, a property operated by PENN Entertainment.

The move ensures that Fanatics can continue offering mobile sports betting in the state without interruption.

Regulatory Compliance and Retail Betting

Fanatics remains fully compliant with Illinois sports betting regulations. The company can continue to operate retail sports betting at Hawthorne and its off-track betting locations, while mobile operations are managed under the Argosy license.

State regulators have confirmed that this license adjustment does not require additional approvals.

Fanatics Continues to Lead Illinois Market

Fanatics is one of the leading Illinois online sports betting apps, trailing DraftKings and FanDuel Illinois in overall handle and revenue.

Through the first 11 months of 2025, Fanatics reported over $103 million in adjusted gross revenue, placing it in the top tier of state operators in terms of sports betting revenue and tax contributions.
